Minima!

MINIMA

Living in the middle of ryrie street i am normally woken by builders in the morning revamping shop interiors and factories. From this i came to realise the amount of materials that were being thrown out from the existing conditions. Because of this, my main focus was on using materials sourced from commercial developments in Geelong.

Also, my opinion of minima was not minimising the space of my project, but to minimise the use of materials, this way it wouldnt matter how big your design is if you still used a minimum amount of materials to create this space.

I ended up building my minima out of steel L angles and other various materials sourced from commercial buildings. Its composed out of two seperate parts. One is the actual living space and the other provides shelter, rain catchment and sound protection. The shelter has two rooms, one is the living/sleeping/eating and kitchen area, and the other is the bathroom, both can be accessed from the outside though at night, the form of the building has the ability to move to allow internal access to the bathroom for added privacy and comfort.
